Polypropylene carpets can withstand stronger cleansers, such one tablespoon ammonia with one cup of water, or one-part chlorine with five parts water. Finally, similarly with water-soluble stains, blot or spritz the mixture, rinse with warm water, and repeat. • Glue: Dip a cotton ball or soft cloth in rubbing alcohol and blotting it on a glue stain, then gently wipe away the moistened glue until it is entirely removed.
• Gum: freeze it up using a piece of ice, then shatter it with a spoon or other blunt object. The pieces can then be picked out or vacuumed.
